Project 4000 – KEEPING IT A MILLI IN THE 4000

Semi-Permanent Brisbane by Matt

With the Brisbane leg of 2011’s Semi-Permanent conventions fast approaching, a good deal of the speakers list has been announced and ticketing information has been made available. Some really interesting people are making the trek to Brisbane including Reg Mombassa (of Mambo and Deus Ex Machina fame) and badass typographer Gemma O’Brien.

Tickets are being given out at discounted rates if you grab them early so get to it!

“Street” – MOCA 2011 by Matt

I’m sure you all know about MOCA, its been plastered around the streetwear/art blogs for weeks now. One particular installation that interested me was the piece called “Street” which was created by Todd James, Barry McGee, Stephen Powers, Devin Flynn, Josh Lazcano, Dan Murphy, and Alexis Ross. These artists got together to create their own small world within the MOCA event.

Obviously photos couldn’t really capture the experience, and whilst I’m sure the video doesn’t give you the full thing it’s pretty well shot and makes for a decent trade-off.

UNDFTD Clyde Canvas Pack @ Laced by Matt

There was a period in time where myself and Big T would only buy Pumas, in particular those in the Suede/Clyde/States family. Over time though we both realised that although an amazing looking shoe, they really were never that comfortable. Never fear for the second instalment of UNDFTD’s Puma Clyde program brings a more comfortable shoe through upgraded heel, insole, tongue and toebox modifications in an attempt to bring this classic silhouette into the 21s century.

Releasing June 10th exclusively in QLD at Laced, these are real nice (especially the Hemp/Brown colour).

Totally forgot to post this the other month when I watched it. Seeing it pop up on a few blogs reminded me. Quite an interesting story to be told here from a man that was doing the high fashion and sportswear collaboration thing years before anyone else was thinking about it and still remains to be one of the best at it.

Props to Nike for making one hell of an awesome park for some mighty talented riders. Good to see the money left over from axing ACG is being put to some good use at least.

– t, thanks to the Lux BMX boys for the heads up on this event.
