Project 4000 – KEEPING IT A MILLI IN THE 4000

New Balance 1500 Archive

So this here is a culmination of an obsession and too much spare time. I’ve been working on this for over a year on and off. Finally I’ve completed what to the best of my knowledge is a full archive of all UK produced 1500s. As well, I have included what I consider "proper" USA made versions of the shoe, which pre-date the weirdly shaped creature that last came from the land of the free. As well as these I also added a few samples that I’ve been able to document over the last few years.

The point of this archive is to keep a record of one of the most recognisable New Balance shoes, and a personal favourite of mine. When creating it, I have taken care to try and be as thorough as possible so that it is useful to both the devoted fanatic or just someone interested.

I’m always on the lookout for new versions of this shoe that I’ve looked over. If you have anything that fits into this category feel free to contact me as long as you have pictures that will be of use. But please, no Asian made shoes!

Click the thumbnails for a full detailed view of the shoe plus its product code.

Note: I’ve spent quite a bit of time on creating this archive, and I’m more than happy to share it with everyone. However I ask that you respect the amount of effort put into this project by not modifying my artwork without permission, and you give credit where it’s due. Other than that, feel free to share it with whoever you like!

Special thanks to the members of Crooked Tongues who helped me hunt down pictures of some of the more elusive versions of the 1500, showing love and dropping knowledge…
